My husband and I used some of the money to buy supplies for a neighborhood party we hosted in our neighborhood.
We are planning to use the remainder to take a group of kids from an inner city Philadelphia church camping. Not sure yet how that will work, but that is the basic idea for now.

oh my gosh, what a sweet article!!!! I love it! I moved in with my single father when I was 9 years old, and I loved it when he braided my hair, which he learned to do from making wreaths out of rope in high school! Haha… although I am white and have very fine straight hair… so definitely not as challenging and time consuming as Miriam’s! He still could only braid it though, when my hair was wet! Thanks for sharing! Hope you guys are doing well! Haven’t heard from you or seen any blogs lately! Many Blessings!

I’m just starting read your blogs as a friend sent me your link. I live in Canada and have traveled to Haiti twice as well. Once in 2006 just after the election and again last summer when I co-led a group of ten to go. We spent the bulk of our time in a children’s hospital helping to feed, change and simply hold sick, malnourished infants and toddlers in Port au Prince. the people are a proud people and I fell in love with them and their country! Where do visit when you go?
